‘Sharp Objects’ Star Eliza Scanlen in Greta Gerwig’s ‘Little Women’
The young Australian actress is working on a new project, this time, as the role of Beth in the movie adaption of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, Little Women.
We already know that Scanlen has an incredibly promising future due to her work in HBO’s Sharp Objects, as the complex character of Amma Crelin. She played the ultimate role of sugar and spice, showing us versatility, as well as extreme character depth.
Scanlen joins a prestigious cast for Greta Gerwig’s film adaption of Little Women, with Oscar-worthy stars like Saorise Ronan, Timothy Chalamet, and Meryl Streep to name a few. Scanlen has certainly proven herself dedicated to her roles and we have no doubt that her performance as Beth will be any different, despite Beth’s character being the polar opposite from that of Amma’s.
The 19-year-old actress has also established herself as multi-faceted. In Sharp Objects, Scanlen mastered a Southern accent and also managed to teach herself how to roller skate like a pro. And for her role of Beth, she must portray the character to the best of her abilities as well as learn to play the piano.
We’re all eager to see what Scanlen will bring to the table to for this new movie. We imagine it will be nothing short of brilliant.
