‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ is Coming to Broadway
Our beloved childhood-favorite film is being adapted into a Broadway musical, and our hearts simply can’t take it.
Four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, recently praised for his Broadway revival of Hello, Dolly!, is directing a new musical based off the 1993 classic comedy, Mrs. Doubtfire, starring the late Robin Williams and Anne Finn’s best-selling novel Alias Madame Doubtfire.

The creative team consists of the Tony-nominated creators of Something Rotten!: John O’Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick (book) and Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick (music and lyrics).
Mrs. Doubtfire follows a struggling actor who disguises himself as a British nanny in an attempt to spend time with his children after losing custody in a bitter divorce battle with his wife (played by Sally Fields). The film received a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical Comedy that year and Robin Williams took home a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
