Mariah Carey Announces New Album ‘Caution’

Carey shared a short video for her fans on Twitter to make the exciting announcement alongside her adorable seven-year-old son Moroccan. “The name of my new album is Caution,”  she says in the clip while leaning on a red staircase.

The singer then asks her son when the release date is. “November 16!” Moroccan enthusiastically responds as Carey and the cameraman join in with a celebratory excitement, and she blows a kiss to the camera.

Caution is Carey’s first album since her 2014 record Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse, and it will feature her recently released singles “With You” and “GTFO.” Since her 2014 album, the singer has been open about her ongoing struggle with mental illness. In discussing her mental health, she told People, “For a long time I thought I had a severe sleep disorder. “But it wasn’t normal insomnia and I wasn’t lying awake counting sheep. I was working and working and working… I was irritable and in constant fear of letting people down. It turns out that I was experiencing a form of mania.”

It’s relieving to know that Carey “in a really good place right now,” and is ready to showcase herself in her new music. If the album is anything like her recently-released songs, we have no doubt it will be a banger.
