The year 2018 has shown a trend towards female celebrities wearing suits, and we’re totally here for it. Check out our five favorite looks:
1. Blake Lively
We’re not saying Blake Lively singlehandedly revived the suit trend, but she may have. While on a press tour for her new film, A Simple Favor, the star showed off a wide range of iconic looks inspired by her character Emily Nelson. This baby pink look from the movie’s London premiere is effortlessly flawless.
2. Cara Delevingne
Cara Delevigne rocked this three-piece suit at Princess Eugenie’s Royal Wedding. She complemented the sleek all-black look with a top hat while looking fierce for the cameras.
3. Janelle Monáe
Janelle Monáe is undoubtedly the pioneer of the “women in suits” trend. Over-the-top colors and patterns are her signature style, and this look from her Dirty Computer Tour is no exception. She pairs a red and white striped jacket with checkered pants and knee-high boots, and it totally works.
4. Busy Philipps
Busy Phillipps slayed this plaid look in NYC while promoting her new book. Her bright red Gucci bag and cheetah print shoes added some funky flair to the neutral gray suit.
5. Hailee Steinfeld
The Pitch Perfect star made a statement at New York Fashion Week with this all-black look. The jacket’s plunging neckline accompanied by a diamond-studded belt offer a more modern take on the traditional formalwear.
