Jimin’s hit solo “Promise” broke the record for most streams in its first 24 hours on SoundCloud.
When Jimin stopped the world on December 31st and announced that he released a song for free on SoundCloud, fans went crazy. Forbes reported that “Promise” surpassed the previously set 24-hour debut record by Drake’s “Duppy Freestyle” with 3.6 million streams last May. “Promise” achieved over 8.5 million streams within the first 24 hours.

The top 5 countries that streamed the song were South Korea, USA, Japan, Vietnam, and Indonesia. This achievement was done with no promotions from Bighit or any other teasers. Jimin’s power to attract a crowd is unmatched. Fans raved about it on Twitter:
