Quvenzhané Wallis Moves In on ABC’s ‘Black-ish’
The young actress has found a new home with one of TV’s favorite family.
Quvenzhané has been cast to play Andre Johnson’s cousin Kyra on Black-ish. Quvenzhané’s first Black-ish episode aired on January 22nd on ABC. Kyra’s character has a bit of a troubled past and moved into the Johnson home to get a fresh start. But that fresh start doesn’t go as well as everyone hopes.
However this isn’t her first rodeo. Quvenzhané is considered Hollywood royalty, even at the young age of 15. She began acting at just five years old, starring in Beasts of the Southern Wild as Hushpuppy. She also starred in the 2014 remake of Annie which landed her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture. Quvenzhné was the youngest actress ever to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. She also was the first person born in the 21st century to be nominated for an Oscar.
This talented queen doesn’t limit herself to just acting. She’s a published author as well. Quvenzhané has written several children’s books, from her Shai & Emmie series to A Night Out with Mama.
We look forward to seeing Quvenzhané every Tuesday on ABC’s Black-ish.
