How Yalitza Aparicio’s Oscar Dress Inspired Her Makeup Artist
Celebrity makeup artist, Carissa Ferreri, gave us an exclusive look into Best Actress Nominee, Yalitza Aparicio’s, makeup.
Attending the Oscars alone is a major moment, but being a nominee for your first ever motion picture is even more exciting. Aparicio is the first indigenous women to be nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award for Roma. Her red carpet look included a peachy lip, soft light eye, and glowing skin. Carissa Ferreri shared her inspiration behind the makeup look.
“My inspiration for Yalitza’s look was spring. Her dress is a beautiful mint color and I wanted to do something fresh and soft with apricot and peach colors,” said Ferreri. “I do a lot of skin prep before starting on the makeup as it’s essential to begin a beauty look with a clean and smooth canvas.”
Carissa made sure to use 100% vegan skincare and makeup from the botanically based, cruelty-free beauty brand Arbonne.
