Mindy Kaling Has a New Show Coming to Netflix

Are you ready for more Mindy Kaling?Of course you are, who wouldn’t be? The actress announced via Twitter and Instagram that she was bringing “relatable, awkward teen moments” to Netflix. She will be teaming up with screenwriter, Lang Fisher, to co-create a 10 episode comedy about “a modern day first generation Indian American teenage girl,” inspired by Kaling’s own childhood.

Kaling and Fisher previously worked together on Kaling’s comedy series, The Mindy Project, which aired on Fox before being picked up by Hulu. This will be Mindy’s first Netflix series after she has just wrapped up production on a mini-series adaptation of Four Weddings and a Funeral for Hulu and UniTv. It is unclear whether or not Mindy herself will appear in the show
