CELEBRITY

It’s the 10-Year Anniversary of ‘Parks and Recreation’

It should be a national holiday, to be honest.

NBC’s Parks and Recreation is one of the best shows and everyone can agree to that. It has made us laugh, cry, and fall in love with all of its characters. It has also taught us that “we have to remember what’s important in life. Friends, waffles, and work.” It gave us Galentine’s Day and oh so many memes. We have watched the show over so many times that it’s hard to believe that it has actually been 10 years since it debuted on television. To celebrate, Amy Poehler (aka Leslie Knope) and Nick Offerman (aka Ron Swanson) posted a sweet message thanking the show’s fans for supporting them throughout all the years.

10 years ago today, the first episode of #ParksAndRec aired on @nbc. 💚

Not only did Nick and Amy post that cute video but Ben Schwartz, who played Jean-Ralphio, posted a behind the scenes video of when he, Aziz and NBA star Detlef Schrempf shot their basketball scene from the episode, “Ron and Tammys”. We can currently hear Jean-Ralphio singing in our ears and it, honestly, makes us so happy.

Seeing these clips has made us emotional and reminds us how much we love the show. It has also made us want to watch another episode so if you need us, we’ll be celebrating this anniversary by rewatching the show for the millionth time.
