Things are Heating up in the Trailer for ‘Handmaid’s Tale: Season 3’

There is not a more ominous way to start the trailer for what is sure to be a pivotal season in the hit shows canon. Handmaid’s Tale has been a standout in Hulu’s lineup since its first season aired in 2017. The third season is sure to be fantastic, and the recent trailer serves to prove that.

Based on the Margaret Atwood novel of the same title, Handmaid’s Tale tells the story of Gilead, somewhere that used to be part of the US, but is now under a totalitarian regime. In this new society, women are treated as the property of the state and given little to no agency over who they are and what they are used for. The book was a best-selling deep dive into post-apocalyptic fiction and radical feminist commentary. It was the perfect intellectual property to adapt to the climate we are living in now.
Make sure you binge all of the first two seasons on Hulu before season 3 drops on June 5th.
