Rihanna Confirms a New Reggae Album Is In The Works
New RiRi music is on the way!
Rihanna confirmed in a recent T Magazine interview that she is indeed working on new music. More specifically, the pop princess is creating her first reggae album. Rihanna has always wanted to pay tribute to her Caribbean roots and now she’s finally getting the chance. This project has been in the works for over a year and a half. However, Rihanna and her team have been keeping this quiet for a long time. RiRi organized writing camps and so far, she has collected hundreds of records for this album. Out of the hundreds of pieces collected, Rihanna only plans on using around 10 records for this album.
The release date is still unclear at this point but one thing that is certain: fans are finally getting more Rihanna music. There have been speculations that Lady GaGa will be one of the artists that are featured on the album but it has not been confirmed. One major artist that Riri that she will not be collaborating with on this new project is her former love interest and fellow hitmaker, Drake. “Not on this album, that’s for sure,” the singer stated when asked if he would appear on R9.
