Wheaties Just Featured Serena Williams on Its Cereal Box

Instagram

Serena Williams just became the second black female tennis player featured on a Wheaties cereal box. “In 2001, Wheaties paid homage to a true champion and an icon by putting her on the cover of a Wheaties Box. Althea Gibson was the FIRST Black Woman tennis player to be on the box. Today, I am honored to be the second,” Serena posted to Instagram. Stars like Zoe Saldana and Uzo Aduba chimed in on the comment thread to congratulate her.

Serena has been winning lately, and not just in tennis and the cereal world. The seven-time Wimbledon champion and new mother recently became the first athlete to be featured on the Forbes Self-Made Women list.
