TV Host Eddie Huang Goes Vegan for Amazon Fires
After it was assumed that cattle ranchers could be a catalyst to the blazing Amazon Rainforest, TV Host of Viceland’s Huang’s World, posted to his Instagram that he would be transitioning from meat.
Declaring that his last piece of meat would be the corned beef from Junior’s in New York City. But good news, there’s plenty of Beyond Meat to sustain the environment and, now, Eddie.
This is a cause for celebration to not only vegans but to the environment. As Eddie highlights in his Instagram post, it takes 20 times less land to feed someone on a plant-based diet (vegan diet). Which is assumed to be one of the factors to the devastating fires raging across the Amazon.
Meat consumption is one of the major causes of deforestation worldwide, as well as the main contributor to CO-2 emissions. Just cutting back on individual beef consumption would have a remarkable effect on the environment.
“Take a moment, think about it, and reexamine your relationship with food because it’ll make the Earth and ourselves very, very sick if we keep abusing it,” Eddie closes.
A man with whom has made his career on selling and eating good food, Eddie has now stepped back to reexamine what his impact is on the Earth.
