Emma Stone Is the New Cruella de Vil

It was revealed that Emma Stone will star as the new Cruella de Vil at D23 Expo last weekend.

At D23 Expo, Disney’s biennial fan convention, a video was shown of Emma Stone revealing the details of Disney’s new movie Cruella. The film stars the villain of the 1961 original movie 101 Dalmatians in her time before she began her evil quest to try and steal dalmatian puppies for their fur.

Walt Disney Studios released a photo of Emma Stone looking positively menacing, sporting the classic, crazy black and white hair of the original Disney villain and holding the leashes of three dalmatians. The will be set in the 1970s punk rock London era, as is evidenced in the photo by Stone’s edgy black outfit and the decrepit stone building in the background.

Cruella will also star Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Joel Fry. It was directed by Craig Gillespie, written by Tony McNamara and Dana Fox, and produced by Marc Platt, Kristin Burr, and Andrew Gunn. The release date for the film is set for May 28, 2021.
