Congratulations to ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Alums Kevin Wendt and Astrid Loch
Bachelor in Paradise‘s Kevin Wendt and Astrid Loch are engaged.
The couple, who met during season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise, revealed the news with Instagram posts on Tuesday. Wendt proposed to Loch last Wednesday.
Wendt proposed with a custom cushion-cut diamond from his family’s jewelry store, Wendt’s Jewellery. The jewelry company was established in 1884 by Wendt’s great-great-grandfather and all of the family members have proposed with rings from the shop for the past 135 years.
In addition to Loch’s new ring being a significant part of Wendt’s family history, Wendt did his best to make sure that his fiancé’s ring matched her style and personality.
“I did my research on what Astrid liked for rings, just based on what she said about other girls’ rings or what she likes or what she doesn’t like,” Wendt said.
Loch admired the extra effort that Wendt made for her ring.
“I’ve always told him I don’t like when there’s too much crazy stuff going on in the ring,” Loch commented. Loch acknowledged that she and Wendt are “simple people” and the ring is reflective of that. Wendt also had an inside joke between the couple engraved on the inside of it.
The former reality-star couple met last summer during the filming of season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise and have been dating for a little over a year. They broke up while filming but reconnected later in the real world, where things have been going well for the couple ever since.
