Mac Miller fans pay tribute to the legend at one of his favorite places, Blue Slide Park, in memory on the one year anniversary of his passing.

Blue Slide Park in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania was one of the only places Mac felt safe and treasured; naming his 2011 debut studio album after the park. On Friday, September 6, 2019, hundreds of Mac Miller fans joined voices as they sang and celebrated his life together to pay tribute to one of the most tragic losses of the decade. His father stood in front of the crowd and spoke passionately about his son honoring him and his compassion. The memorial was organized by The Mac Miller Memoir. Musicians, artists, dancers, and fans gathered to collaborate in memory of the king.

As the sun set, they sat around the blue slide and sang some of Mac’s most emotional, impactful songs together. With lighters and flashlights raised in the air, the crowd powerfully sang “Self Care” in unison.

Another video posted on Twitter features a POV shot of the crowd singing Mac’s song “2009.”

Fans are hoping for a bigger celebration in the future to unite as many “Macadelics” as possible to remember the anniversary of his tragic death, but beautiful life.
