Costa Mesa in Southern California has the most inspiring venue to appreciate the classics. If you don’t want to fight the traffic to LA or you simply want to enjoy what SoCal has to offer and get out of downtown LA, Pacific Symphony has arranged some of the most sophisticated programs at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Henry T. Segerstrom was a visionary, legendary developer and innovative philanthropist who brought business and culture to Orange County. Segerstrom’s vision, combined with his and his family’s generosity, led to the establishment of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, a world-renowned center of culture and the arts.

Carmina Burana 8PM 9/28
A little about this program. First, enjoy Beethoven’s dramatic “Egmont” Overture followed by the precursor to his Ninth Symphony, the “Choral” Fantasy featuring pianist Benjamin Pasternack. Then, experience Orff’s breathtaking masterpiece, “Carmina Burana.”

Benjamin Pasternack has performed as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician on four continents. His orchestral engagements have included appearances as soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, the Tonhalle Orchestra of Zurich, the New Japan Philharmonic, the Pacific Symphony, the New Jersey Symphony, the Orchestre National de France, the SWR Orchestra of Stuttgart, the Bamberg Symphony, and the Dusseldorf Symphony Orchestra.

Tchaikovsky’s “Pathétique” Oct 17th 8PM
Enjoy Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, one of the defining sounds of the romantic period, and Ravel’s “Tzigane,” featuring concertmaster Dennis Kim who is a legend in his own right. He was first appointed concertmaster of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra at the age of 22. He then served as the youngest concertmaster in the history of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, before going on to lead the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra in Finland.
