Netflix Announces ‘Murder Mystery’ Sequel
Netflix’s announces the sequel of the mysterious-comedic film, Murder Mystery, starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.
Murder Mystery premiered on Netflix in June of 2019. The film revolves around a married couple who go on a European vacation for their 15th year wedding anniversary. While on vacation, the two end up in the middle of an Agatha Christie-like murder plot, with them eyed as suspects. Netflix announced in the same month that it debuted, the film had one of the highest numbers of viewers in Netflix history. It is also Sandler’s most successful Netflix film thus far. The film’s ratings surpassed, Will Smith’s, Bright and Sandra Bullock’s, Bird Box, raking in almost 31 million views in three days.

The cast has some very familiar faces alongside some new. Returning as the lead characters, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston play Nick and Audrey Spitz. The original players in Murder Mystery include; Luke Evans, playing Charles Cavendish; Gemma Arterton playing Grace Ballard; Adeel Akhtar playing the Maharajah; Luis Gerardo Méndez playing Juan Carlos Rivera; Dany Boon playing Inspector de la Croix; and Terence Stamp playing Malcolm Quince, who’s at the heart of the original crime they must solve.
Ending on a cautiously closed note, Murder Mystery’s amazing ratings and star power have since paved the way for a sequel, though no release date for the second film has been announced. Until then we can all continue to stream the original on Netflix as we patiently await the hilarious sequel.
