Hocus Pocus 2 Is in the Works for Disney+
The Sanderson sisters are back for a Hocus Pocus sequel, continuing their quest of casting spells and seeking immortality. The original Hocus Pocus debuted in 1993 and was directed by Kenny Ortega, who is well-known for High School Musical and The Cheetah Girls 2. In Hocus Pocus, a teenage boy named Max accidentally awakens a coven of evil witches who seek immortality by sucking the life out of young children. Max, his sister Dani, and their new friend Allison try to stop the witches before they can do any harm.
The Hocus Pocus sequel was picked up by Disney+ with Jen D’Angelo as the scriptwriter. There’s no word if Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will be returning as Winifred, Sarah, and Mary, for their original roles as the iconic Sanderson sisters, but the studio is hopeful that they’ll be involved in some way.
Though most of us were children when we first witnessed the greatness of Hocus Pocus, the film still holds a very special place in all of our hearts every year for Halloween. It has become one of the most iconic Halloween films to-date and this sequel is very 90’s baby dream come true.
