Read About Demi Lovato’s Empowering Teen Vogue Interview
Demi Lovato’s first interview after a year of being incognito was a testament to her perseverance, self-love, and her bright future.
After returning to Instagram in August and posting an internet-breaking selfie in September, Lovato has embraced her past and is looking forward to what is happening next in her career.
In an exclusive interview at the 2019 Teen Vogue Summit, Lovato says, “I’ve never been more in tune with who I am than where I’m at today.” The past year has been filled with highs and lows for the pop-star, forcing her to recognize and accept who she is and what she wants. Demi says that through it all, the biggest lesson she’s learned is, “Life is not worth living unless you’re living it for yourself. If you’re doing things for other people it’s not going to work out.” Living in the limelight for a substantial amount of her life, Lovato had to find ways to remain positive and supportive of who she is as a person.

The pop-star also has had a history with disordered eating and body dysmorphia. She revealed that she took a break from the gym and instead of finding the negativity, she said, “I have to be OK with where [my body] is at in this moment. I don’t have to lie to myself and tell myself I have this amazing body. All I have to say is I’m healthy… I’m healthy and I accept for the way that it is today at this moment without changing anything.”
Demi Lovato has become a woman to admire for her positive outlook on life and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
