Flume + Vera Blue Release Psychedelic, Retrospective Music Video for Single ‘Rushing Back’
Flume, the electronic music artist, is known for pairing his eclectic sounds with daring yet meaningful visuals and “Rushing Back” featuring Vera Blue is no exception.
Since the release of his first self-titled solo album in 2012, Flume has consistently produced innovative, atmospheric songs that have now become easily recognizable due to their popularity. Tracks like “Sleepless” and “Left Alone” put his talent on the map but the release of Skin made him the EDM star he is today.
In 2017, Flume was recognized at the Grammy Awards for Best Dance/Electronic Album of the year for the success of Skin which featured well-known track “Never Be Like You” featuring Kai. In addition to his Grammy Award, as an Australia native, Flume has won 7 ARIA awards. But the fame for Flume is just beginning as he released his 2019 mixtape Hi This Is Flume with a corresponding “mixtape visualiser.”
His unique texture and mix of sounds have continued as he released his new single “Rushing Back” featuring Vera Blue, Australian singer-songwriter, at the end of September.
More recently, Flume and Vera Blue released the music video accompanying the track. The “Rushing Back” music video is everything you’d expect from a Flume visual: eye-catching, somewhat confusing, but strangely relatable. It features the two in abstractly designed sports car, telling the story behind the lyrics.
The music video begins with Vera Blue singing the emotional lyrics about “letting the days slip away” and then transitions into what seems to be the memories she “left behind” yet seem to be “rushing back.” Watch the full official music video below.
With the release of this single, we are hoping there is more Flume coming our way soon.
