Interview: Christina Taylor Talks About Her Latest Single, ‘As Good As You Look’
Country songstress and songwriter, Christina Taylor, talks about her sound, her new single, “As Good As You Look” with Warner Music Canada’s Brett Kissel, how her music has evolved since she first started, and how she stays grounded in this business. GLITTER: How would you describe your sound?
CHRISTINA: I like to describe my sound and vibe as Country Soul music.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about your latest single, “As Good As You Look”?
CHRISTINA: “As Good As You Look” is a fun up-tempo song about seeing an attractive person from afar and wondering if they’re as pretty on the inside.
GLITTER: How do you typically approach your studio sessions?
CHRISTINA: I approach my studio sessions as prepared as possible. I like to feel 100% ready so that I’m able to perform to the best of my ability in the studio.
GLITTER: What is the songwriting process like for you?
CHRISTINA: My songwriting process is different all the time! Sometimes I start off with coming up with a lyric, and sometimes I just have a melody, it all just depends!
GLITTER: How has your music evolved since your debut single released?
CHRISTINA: I think my music has matured so much. From subject matter to my voice itself. I think it’s evolved in all ways, but there’s also a sense of staying true to who I’ve always been.
GLITTER: How do you stay grounded in this business?
CHRISTINA: It’s all about who you surround yourself with. Make sure you have people in your life who are going to tell you “no” sometimes, and people who will always tell you the truth.
