The film is centered upon women of Fox News and their allegations against the founder, Roger Ailes, who will be played by John Lithgow. In 2016, a massive scandal surfaced the country when Gretchen Carlson sued Ailes for sexual harassment. This led more women, like Megyn Kelly, to come forward and share their experiences. With additional support of the #MeTooMovement, there was over 20 women that could recall harassment from Ailes which ended in his resignation from his CEO position.
The film offers a “revealing look inside the most powerful and controversial media empire of all time: Fox News, and the explosive story of the women who brought down the infamous man who created it,” according to the film’s official synopsis.
Bombshell will hit select theaters on Dec. 13 and released nationally in all theaters on Dec. 20. Don’t forget to plan your night out at the movies.
