Jordan Fisher Is on Fire with New Role in ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ + New Music

Jordan Fisher prepares for his Broadway debut as Evan Hansen, gets in the holiday spirit with Julianne Hough for their new duet, “All I Want For Christmas Is Love,” and releases his newest song since 2017.

Jordan Fisher is heading back to Broadway to play Evan Hansen, the lead roll in the famous tony award-winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen. Fisher previously starred in Fox’s live production of Rent, and before his role as Mark Cohen in the performance, he was cast in Hamilton in 2016 for his first Broadway production. Fisher is set to star in Dear Evan Hansen in 2020 and will join the cast for a limited run on Broadway for a 16-week engagement beginning January 28th.

The news was announced on the musical’s Twitter, including Fisher’s process of becoming Evan Hansen, and his excitement to become the character.

With news of Fisher’s addition to the production, many fans have stated that the actor has made history in being the first person of color to play Evan Hansen on Broadway, as well as their excitement to see Fisher play this incredibly emotional character. On Twitter, one viewer even stated the recent news is the best thing to come out of 2019.

Fisher is not only set to debut on Broadway again, but he also is going to be performing on NBC’s Rockefeller Christmas Tree Special on December 4th. In addition to Holidays With The Houghs, on December 16th, Jordan Fisher will present his recent project, “All I Want For Christmas Is Love,” with Julianne Hough. Their new project features lyrics about love and spending time with loved ones while not focusing on material things this Christmas.

And finally, the star has recently released his newest song since 2017, “Be Okay.” The artist has certainly kept his fans waiting, but now we know why as this heartfelt song has such beautifully insightful lyrics. This new bop focuses on mental health, teaching yourself that you can be okay and figure things out in your life.

Fisher took to Twitter to showcase to fans what exactly his lyrics intend to portray.
