Tom Ford Plans to Debut His Fall 2020 Fashion Show Just Two Days Before 2020 Oscars
Renowned high-end fashion designer, Tom Ford, strategically planned his fall 2020 fashion show during the week of New York’s Fashion Week and Los Angeles based award show, the Oscars.
Ford announced on Thursday that he will be hosting his Fall 2020 show on Feb. 7 in Los Angeles only two days before the Oscars. This is not the first time Ford planned his show coincidentally in the same week as the awards show. Back in 2015, Ford relocated his fall show to Los Angeles just a day before the Oscars where the front row was filled with A-list celebs.
A lot of buzz has generated from this show scheduling. Since New York Fashion Week is planned for Feb. 6-13 and the Oscars on Feb. 9, most of the celebrities, stylists, and actors will be in Los Angeles unable to attend NYFW shows and events. Ford is well aware of these interferences, but it will work out in his favor.
Ford has dominated the fashion world and in March, was named the chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. With the CFDA growing a stronger presence on the West Coast this year, Ford feels more comfortable holding his show in Hollywood given it is his home.
Time will only tell if other designers will follow in Ford’s footsteps to show in Los Angeles to correlate with the Oscars audience.
