It’s Happening, Fran Drescher Is Bringing ‘The Nanny’ to Broadway
On Jan. 8 it was announced that 1990’s sitcom, The Nanny, is currently in the process of being made into a Broadway musical.
Created and starred in by Fran Drescher, the CBS show (which was in part, based on the actress’ personal upbringing) is about Fran Fine, a cosmetics saleswoman from Queens who ends up at the front door of wealthy widower, Maxwell Sheffield. With a twist of fate, she unexpectedly lands the job as the nanny for his three children. Later on, she then marries Maxwell becomes apart of the family herself.
With the help of Rachel Bloom and Adam Schlesinger writing the music; this sitcom filled with laughter, hardships, family and many life lessons is sure to make a notable addition to the stage.
