5 Romantic Movies to Watch on Netflix This February

Sarah Shatz/Netflix

Love is in the air this February and Netflix has the romance movies to confirm it. Below, we have compiled a list of our 5 favorites that we think you should check out.

1. Always Be My Maybe

In this rollercoaster of a romcom, after falling out and cutting all ties, former childhood sweethearts, Marcus (Randall Park) and Sasha (Ali Wong) inconveniently cross paths again after 15 years. Though the flame still burns strong and their chemistry is as undeniable as ever, it remains difficult to accept the harsh reality of their situation; the worlds they live in are too different.

2. Hitch

Hitch revolves around dating, love and the hardships that come along with it. Will Smith plays Hitch, a smooth-talking dating coach who, in the midst of helping a characterful client, Albert (Kevin James) gets the woman of his dreams, Allegra Cole (Amber Valleta). He’s so set in his player ways until he meets Sara (Eva Mendes) that he learns he has truly met his match. Their meeting causes both of their strong personalities collide and big sparks to fly, proving that there’s someone for everyone. If you want a good laugh, this is the movie for you.

3. P.S. I Love You

Have your tissue boxes ready before you watch this, because P.S. I Love You will give you all the feels. After learning he has an illness and knowing how difficult it would be for his wife Holly Kennedy to cope with his death, Gerry (Gerard Butler) makes elaborate plans including a series of  funny, heartwarming letters to sway her grief.

4. Tall Girl

Tall Girl centers around the coming of age story of Jodi (Ava Michelle), the tallest girl in her school. When the striking new foreign exchange student comes to town, she develops strong feelings for him. With those feelings comes many other realizations as well. She learns what it means to accept herself and begins to realize what real love feels like.

5. Someone Great

We threw this one in there because it represents one of the most important types of love; self-love. It’s beyond important that we extend the same love we give others to ourselves; this film showcases this idea amazingly. After a tough break up with her ex, Jenny (Gina Rodriguez) hits the town with her two best friends for one last hoorah before heading off to San Francisco. On the journey, she finds the importance of friends, self validation and how to love herself.

So, if you’re in the mood for a little romance this month, feel free to use this list as a Netflix starter kit. Happy watching.
