On March 27, Rihanna donated much-needed safety gear to New York hospitals. The governor of New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, publicly praised the pop star on behalf of the state. Yesterday, Gov. Cuomo took to Twitter saying, “I want to thank @Rihanna and the Rihanna Foundation for donating Personal Protective Equipment to New York State”. He continues, “We’re so appreciative of your help and that of so many others who have stepped up”.

Although the New York governor did not specifically state or list what type of equipment Rihanna contributed, here is a list of requested items by statewide hospitals to fight against the coronavirus. These items include: N95 masks, safety goggles, gloves, sanitation wipes and full-length gowns.

Rihanna’s foundation has partnered with organizations such as Partners In Health, Feeding America, Direct Relief, the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, and the International Rescue Committee.
