Hot Girl Megan Thee Stallion graces the cover of Marie Claire’s May 2020 issue.

The artist opens up about her work ethic, upcoming projects, women empowerment, and not apologizing for her sexuality.

Meg shares with Marie Claire that it is okay to not be perfect and how the world’s idea of “perfection” is overrated. The rapper says, “I know that I’m a mess sometimes, and it’s okay to be a mess. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to scream. It’s okay to be angry”. “It’s okay to go through a thousand different emotions.” It’s also okay to be a bit scared” she continues.

Within the interview, Megan expresses how she knows that women are powerful and should not apologize for it. “I know that women are powerful. I know that we are out here birthing people. I know that we are out here running things,” she says. “We’re the ultimate beings. We are the superior beings,” continues Hot Girl Meg.

Megan began rapping seriously in college. From freestyling on campus to battling at parties, the word quickly spread about the Houston rapper with fire lyrics. “I knew she was dope as soon as I heard her,” says Kelsey Harris, Meg’s best friend and personal assistant. Kelsey was the first person to post Meg’s music on YouTube, and she tells Marie Claire that, “She freestyled over a beat by MJG, and I uploaded it, and, bam, she became that girl who rapped on campus.”

Not only is the star pursuing her rapping career, but she is also currently working toward a degree in health-care administration. She says, “I never had a plan B; I always had two plan As. I knew I wanted to go to school, but I knew I wanted to pursue music,” she says. “When you really want to do something, you’re really going to put your mind to doing it. And I really want to do both. I have to do both,” she continues.

Megan promises that summer 2020 will be even hotter than last year, so stay tuned for what she has in store.

Megan Thee Stallion’s May issue of Marie Claire will be available on stands April 16, 2020.
