The film was supposed to premiere this week, but since it had to be postponed, Variety shared an exclusive clip from the movie.

Variety was given exclusive access to Stardust, a movie about David Bowie. The movie was originally supposed to premiere this week at the Tribeca Film Festival but will now premiere online for distribution executives and select press. On Zoom, there will be an introduction from writer and director Gabriel Range and cast members Johnny Flynn, Marc Maron, and Jena Malone.

Stardust is set in 1971 when Bowie is going to travel to America for the first time. The film reveals inspirations and life events that helped Bowie create his alter ego, Ziggy Stardust. “I set out to make a film about what makes someone become an artist,” Range said in a statement, “what actually drives them to make their art. That someone is David Bowie.”

The exclusive clip shows Bowie, played by Flynn, discussing his prospects in the U.S. with a publicist at Mercury Records, Ron Oberman played by Maron. Bowie had doubts about his album “The Man Who Sold the World” doing well, but Oberman assures him that there is no reason to doubt himself. “I think you are going to be the biggest goddam star in America,” Oberman says. “Seriously man this is a great record.”
