Get a Blast From the Past With This First Look at the ‘Saved by the Bell’ Reboot
Saved By the Bell is making its comeback on NBC, but fans can expect a different view of the beloved Bayside High.
In a new promo video, original cast members Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley reprise their roles as A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano. “Remember how much fun high school used to be,” Slater says to Jessie who replies “Can you believe that was like 30 years ago?” Unfortunately, Slater will not be reliving his glory days as the current gym teacher.
The trailer introduces Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski’s son, Mac Morris played by Mitchell Hoog as well as Jessie’s son Jamie Spano played by Belmont Cameli. Zack Morris is now the governor of California who gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state — including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over-privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality, according to the official synopsis.

No premiere date has been set yet. The crew had to stop production due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Peacock, NBC’s upcoming streaming service that the show will premiere on, is still hoping that the show will be able to air later in 2020.
