Atlanta mogul, Tyler Perry, surprised thousands of shoppers by picking up grocery tabs for elders during senior shopping hours in over 70 stores.Understandably, many shoppers were brought to tears of joy as others openly rejoiced with happiness, lifting their hands in jubilee in the store during check-out.
“We would like to join our customers in thanking Mr. Perry for his kindness and generosity during this unprecedented pandemic,” said Felix Turner, the corporate affairs manager for Kroger’s Atlanta division. “It was truly a pleasure to see our customers fill with joy and gratitude as the news spread throughout 44 stores across metro Atlanta,” he continues.
Perry also did the same gesture at a total of 29 Winn-Dixie stores in Louisiana for thousands of elderly and high-risk customers. “We walked in and the manager just had this huge grin on his face when he was handing out these pieces of paper,” says shopper Erin Cowser.
