If You Have Been Searching for More Live Streamed Concert Series, Check out Erykah Badu as She Has Created Her Own ‘Quarantine Concert Series’
R&B soul songstress, Erykah Badu, just wrapped up her latest “Quarantine Concert Series” on Sunday, April 19th.
Badu’s social distancing multi-event is a live concert series from her bedroom in Dallas, Texas, created for her fans to remain close to her music during the pandemic.
It has always been a dream for the singer to perform in the comfort of her own home. According to The Source, Erykah says, “I’m the laziest artist in the world. My dream was always to perform from my bed and guess what? It came through!”
I dedicate tonight’s APOCALYPSE THREE to my brother @jack Dorsey . Im so grateful for your constant support of me and my creativity and for making a generous contribution to our production. I love your heart. Love, badu pic.twitter.com/RmScjLKXoB

Although some critics disagreed for Badu charging a $1 entry fee, she shares with The Source that, “The experience has really been that we can, as artists, musicians use our own platforms to make our own money and not owe a middle man.”
With the $1 fee, fans were able be fully engaged with the process by creating a soundtrack playlist and vote using polls to select which songs Erykah would perform.

“I wanted to create a live streamed interactive experience that had the same integrity, ingenuity, creativity and technical aspects of my live shows. This was gonna be pretty expensive to bring in techs and engineers and musicians to my house, and I found out I didn’t have enough broadband,” Erykah explains to BET.
“I just created a new way, a new revenue, not just for myself but for anyone who watches — every artist who watches,” she concludes.
The first installment, “Apocalypse One,” debuted on March 23. From there, the singer held two more live stream concerts, “Apocalypse Two,” and her final show “Apocalypse Three”.
We are sure this will not be the last online concert series from Miss Erykah Badu. Be sure to keep an eye out for more live streamed music events.
