Robert Pattinson Takes Self Portraits and Covers GQ Magazine
Robert Pattinson talks to GQ Magazine about taking on different roles in film and takes self-portraits during his time in isolation for the magazine’s June/July issue.
Robert Pattinson interviews with GQ Magazine to discuss his self-isolation experience, landing the lead role of Gotham City’s iconic caped crusader, “The Batman,” and how his previous roles have changed him both professionally and personally. The interview begins with an insight into Pattinson’s routine in preparing for an interview, displaying his somewhat quirky yet charming personality. In relation to many, Pattinson has seemed to have lost track of time since the production of “The Batman” was brought to a halt (along with many businesses across the globe) leaving the actor to self isolate in his London apartment.

During his interview, Pattinson reveals how his rise to stardom (with the success of The Twilight Series) lead him to self-isolation to avoid what the world throws to young actors in Hollywood. “I spend so much time by myself, ’cause you’re just kind of always forced to, that I can’t really remember what it was like not really having that kind of lifestyle,” Pattinson tells GQ. In reference to how all of the actor’s loved ones are adjusting to the same situation, he continues, “I just realize, everyone is so, so vulnerable to isolation…It’s quite shocking.” The photos taken by Robinson for the interview give readers an insight into Pattinson’s artistic expression wearing different designers such as Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Burberry.

“It’s weird. If you keep playing parts, it actually does start to rub off on you afterwards. So if somehow you keep playing passive losers, you kind of do feel like one after a bit,” Pattinson tells GQ referring to his decision to pursue different roles in high budgeted movies, such as “The Batman,” as opposed to the Indie films he has been most recently known for. about why he decided to take on the role of Batman after leading actors such as George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck, Pattison responds, “You’ve seen this sort of lighter version, you’ve seen a kind of jaded version, a kind of more animalistic version. And the puzzle of it becomes quite satisfying, to think: Where’s my opening?”
