Brandy Makes a Comeback with ‘Baby Mama’ Music Video Featuring Chance the Rapper
Brandy Norwood has officially made her comeback with Chicago’s Chance the Rapper with a music video for her latest single “Baby Mama.”
Produced by Hit-Boy, the track was initially teased on Brandy’s Instagram with a 15-second snippet before officially making its debut. The R&B legend expressed that she has finished recording her new album and that “Baby Mama” is dedicated to her daughter.
“The inspiration for ‘Baby Mama’ was, of course, my daughter and how she makes me a better person. I wanted to do a song about her and speak to all baby mamas out there that may feel like they can’t make it or they can’t push through,” Brandy wrote on her YouTube page. “If you use your child as an inspiration you can do anything, and I want everybody to feel that,” the singer continues.
After going on a 7-year hiatus, the “Princess of R&B” has had fans awaiting new music since the release of “Freedom Rings” in 2019. Since then, Brandy has been hinting a new album was in the works, and now it feels amazing to confirm fans can all expect one this summer. “Baby Mama” will appear on Brandy’s forthcoming seventh studio album entitled B7, and the new album will be the first in 8 years since Two Eleven.
Be on the lookout for Brandy’s upcoming studio album, B7, which is set to release on July 31, 2020. Until then, you can jam out and stream “Baby Mama” right here.
