You Have to See the New Video for Katy Perry’s New Empowering Song ‘Daisies’
In her new music video for the newly released song, “Daisies,” Katy Perry strips down, showing her baby bump in a field of daisies, lip syncing inspiring lyrics.
Katy Perry’s newest single dropped on May 15 and the artist also confirmed that the new album will be released on Aug. 14, 2020. Earlier this year, Katy Perry also revealed that she is expecting her first child with Orlando Bloom in her music video for the song “Never Worn White.”
Each of us is one in more than seven billion, with our own story of strength and resilience to tell.
🌼DAISIES🌼 is out now. I hope it will be the soundtrack to going for your dreams now… especially the ones we left behind 💛 https://t.co/ySw2E8TY9Z pic.twitter.com/IRD0QRxxc2— KATY PERRY (@katyperry) May 15, 2020
In the song, the artist wanted to tell us that no matter how big someone’s dreams may seem and despite others telling them that they will never succeed, one must persevere and keep fighting until the end.
Katy Perry sings in the chorus, “They tell me that I’m crazy, but I’ll never let ’em change me / ‘Til they cover me in daisies, daisies, daisies / They said I’m going nowhere, tried to count me out / Took those sticks and stones, showed ’em I could build a house.”
I wrote this song a couple months ago as a call to remain true to the course you’ve set for yourself, regardless of what others may think. Recently, it has taken a new meaning for me, in light of what the whole world is experiencing. #Daisies 💛🌼

“Daisies” is a song about the strength of the human spirit and may even remind us of her famous “Roar,” released in 2013. It celebrates true resilience.
On May 17, Perry will perform her new track on the American Idol season finale. She is also teaming up with Amazon Music to perform “Daisies” and “Roar” in an upcoming livestream, and will answer questions in a Q&A session. The livestream will spread awareness about communities affected by the consequences of COVID-19 and the proceeds will be donated to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.
“Daisies” gives us a sneak peak into Katy Perry’s new album, and it sounds as if this album will be a truly special one. Get ready for Aug. 14 and be one of the first people to hear what it has to offer.
