You Have to See Little Mix’s New ‘Break Up Song’ Music Video
The coronavirus canceled Little Mix’s original music video shoot, but the improvised version might be even better.
The COVID-19 outbreak has been canceling plans all spring and even celebrities have had to adjust to working from home. After releasing their new track, “Break Up Song,” in March, the Little Mix team had to reevaluate plans for creating the accompanying music video.
Instead of a traditional video shoot, the footage for the music video was created with additional safety precautions. The group followed social distancing guidelines and worked with their team of artists to create a colorful, eighties-reminiscent video that you absolutely must watch.
Released on May 8th, the video already has over two million views on YouTube. Check it out below:
The video features bright artwork with a felt-like texture. In a scrapbook fantasy, the characters dance through a classic break up story and celebrate their new freedom. Clips of the real-life artists appear between the cartoons, with Perrie, Jesy, Jade, and Leigh-Ann rocking big hairdos and singing in front of shiny streamers.
During the often dreary days of a pandemic, fun and vibrant music videos like this are sure to be a hit. “Break Up Song” is the first single released from the group’s sixth album, which is anticipated to drop sometime this summer.
