Read All You Need to Know About UNIQLO’s Billie Eilish X Takashi Murakami T-Shirt Collection
The unisex T-shirt collection is launching on May 25 on UNIQLO’s website, which will feature both Takashi Murakami’s iconic rainbow-colored smiling flowers and Billie Eilish’s “Blohsh” merch.
Earlier in 2019, Eilish collaborated with Murakami for her official video for “you should see me in a crown” from her debut album “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?” The video gained almost 70 million views on YouTube.
The collection will retail from $9.90 to $14.90 and range from XXS to 3XL. UNIQLO is a brand that has joined the Sustainable Apparel Coalition and has its own recycling program for old clothing. They partnered up with Eilish, an eighteen year old singer, who is a multiple Grammy winner, and Murakami, a contemporary artist who has worked with Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Pharrell Williams, and Kanye West.
Murakami’s art offers an almost psychedelic perspective, in which not only the lines between modernism and tradition are blurred, but the line between low and high art become non-existent. The famous white T-shirt that the collection will offer contains Billie Eilish’s name and will be surrounded by Murakami’s kaikai kiki flowers.
