Scottish actress Lauren Lyle has recently launched a new podcast, She’s a Rec, where she speaks with different women in the entertainment industry about various female figures who have influenced their lives.
Each week, host Lauren Lyle sits down with a different guest star to discuss their biggest female inspirations in entertainment. Lyle has thus far hosted a diverse range of female guests, spanning from Golden-Globe nominated actress, and fellow Outlander co-star, Caitriona Balfe, to the newest member of Harry Style’s band, Ny Oh, to the founder of female empowerment British magazine gal-dem, Liv Little. Each week, guests are all encouraged to speak on women who have influenced their lives and careers, allowing audiences to learn about the powerful women who, in turn, have inspired powerful women. They typically speak on three major topics: female influence in film, literature, and music.
Lyle remains charming, intrigued, and genuinely engaged with her guests throughout the duration of the discussion, sharing her insight on their selection of influencers. The discussions, both intimate and breathtakingly honest, give audiences detailed insight into how these women found strength and ascendancy in their respective fields. The conversation usually begins with how the guests experienced a breakthrough in their careers before leading into the aforementioned three main topics.
