In “sadder badder cooler,” Tove Lo sings, “You toast your friends ’cause I left / But you know I’m never coming back in / Once I walk out the door / Screw our loose ends in this war / It was all about the power play, babe / And I can’t do it no more / Heartbreak pays bills / You lose, I win.” The lyrics are inspiring and empower those who know that they should step out of toxic relationships and embrace a brighter and freer future instead.
Many discovered Tove Lo’s music through her song, “Habits (Stay High),” which was released in 2014 and has accumulated almost 800 million views on YouTube over time. Her art continues to stay in our hearts, and Lo’s newest version of Sunshine Kitty gives many people the power to navigate through such hard times with a more positive and badass attitude.
