Janel Parrish Is to Star in the New Movie ‘Mighty Oak’

Janel Parrish is starring in the new musical drama, Mighty Oak. It is set to premiere in movie theaters and drive-ins nationwide on June 5th.

Parrish stars as Gina Jackson, who is the music manager of her brother Vaughn Jackson (Levi Dylan) and his band. But when their big break finally comes, Vaughn is killed in a car accident. After ten years, Gina comes across Oak Scoggins (Tommy Ragen), a fourth-grade guitar prodigy from a disadvantaged household who Gina believes is the reincarnation of Vaughn. Gina convinces the old band to get back together, with Oak taking Vaughn’s old place. Together, Gina and Oak lift up each other’s spirits and make the most out of life. 

Mighty Oak also stars Alexa PenaVega, Carlos PenaVega, and Raven Symone. The movie is directed by Sean McNamara, who has also directed Soul Surfer and Raise Your Voice.

Parrish has recently been participating in Cast4Good. They raise money for charity in exchange for an hour-long Q&A session with the casts of TV and movie shows. Parrish participated in two sessions on May 15 alongside the Pretty Little Liars cast, raising money for Feeding America.

Parrish will be participating in another session on June 6 alongside the cast of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. You can buy tickets at Cast4Good.com, which will raise money for Smile Train.
