See How Ross Butler is Fighting Against Racial Injustice
From 13 Reasons Why to Riverdale, Ross Butler is a fan favorite. Find out how he’s making his mark on the injustices of today’s society.
Ross Butler played one of the lead characters, Zach Dempsey, in the Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why. He then began to take on other roles in films such as To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, and Teen Beach Movie.
What most don’t know, however, is that as an Asian-American actor, he too has struggled with racial injustices. He recently opened up on Twitter about his own experiences as a minority.
I have mostly stayed silent over the years concerning the extreme injustices our American brothers and sisters have endured. Being part of a differently treated minority I never knew where was my place to comment. But this is wrong. It’s all wrong. I’m sorry this is life. Truly.

In addition, he shared on both Instagram and Twitter about how hate speech is more hurtful and long-lasting than people believe. Butler also noted that the current protests in response to the murder of George Floyd have opened up opportunities for more expansive conversations on racial inequity. A conversation that Butler has been boldly sharing via his social media.
Bravery, humility, and compassion are what Butler is striving to set examples of. By showing that there are so many opportunities for change, it’s time to actually make them. Are you ready?
