Halsey Donates $100,000 in the Fight Against Racial Inequality
Halsey recently announced that she had donated $50,000 to The NAACP Legal Defense Fund, $25,000 to Reclaim the Block, and $25,000 to Black Visions Collective to help battle the systemic racism and racial inequality faced by Black Americans.
The NAACP Legal Defense Fund, established in 1940, is a civil rights law organization that fights racial inequality through litigation and education. Reclaim the Block urges Minneapolis police to invest in long-term solutions instead of propagating police brutality, and Black Visions Collective is a Black, Transgender, and Queer led organization affiliated with Black Lives Matter.

Halsey has previously donated 100,000 masks to hospitals in Los Angeles, to ensure the safety of nurses and doctors fighting COVID-19. Halsey has also actively been providing aid to protesters injured by rubber bullets and tear gas. She makes sure to carry a variety of medical supplies, including disinfectant, eye pads, cold packs, and Neosporin, ready to provide first aid to those who need it.
Halsey is more than just a talented singer/songwriter, she is a vocal activist who uses her Twitter platform of 12.7 million supporters proactively, seeking to educate and inform.

Halsey is a prime example of how to fight for what is right, just, and true. In order to create long-term change, we must all unite together against racism.
I am an incoming junior at the UCLA College of Letters and Science. Through my love and appreciation for literature, social justice, feminism, public speaking, and writing, I am planning on pursuing a career in immigration and public interest law. I want to help those who are either the victims of the system or discrimination because I wholeheartedly believe that the purpose of my life is to help others and take cases that nobody else is willing to take.
