Serena Williams Is Encouraging Others to Share Their Community Stories and You Can Contribute
Serena Williams’ clothing brand, Serena, is giving away free Signature S Logo Pins to their community when you share your story.
Williams took to Instagram to share some of the community’s responses with her 12.3 million followers, encouraging people to both speak up and listen.
“Your S stands for SOMETHING,” said the clothing brand on a recent Instagram post below. “We’re giving away our Signature S Logo Pins to our community and encourage you to use this space to share your ‘S’tories with us.”
Williams emphasized the importance of sharing personal experiences and accepting others.
“I see you and I hear you,” said Williams in a recent Instagram post below. “There’s so much power in speaking your story, in writing it, in sharing it.”
Williams posted seven responses to the question, “What does your ‘S’ stand for?” Answers included S-words like, “sensitive, survivor, strength, serenity, and self-esteem.”
“Black women don’t always get the chance to be sensitive,” said one responder. “I choose the word ‘sensitive’ because I never want to forget my feelings. Forget that I should be treated with care and consideration. With love and compassion.”
“My grandparents marched on Washington with Dr. King and Coretta, and I’m doing the exact same thing now,” said another responder. “Black people are strong and it carries through generation to generation. I have hope for our community!”
