Check Out These 5 Brilliant Black-Owned Brands

In the wake of this week’s protests, one of the many questions on the minds of concerned activists is how to show positive support for the African-American community.

Although there are infinite answers to this question, many internet threads have addressed this question by providing lists of links for Black-owned bookstores, coffee shops, and small businesses.

You may be wondering why supporting Black-owned businesses is pertinent at this time. In an article for Esquire, Chef JJ Johnson expertly addressed this question: “A truly black-owned business means a lot in America. The bank is not handing out business loans to us. Investors are not funding us. We can practically count on one hand who’s black and has generational wealth in America.”

In light of this concept, we would like our readers to consider the following: which major brands are owned by African-American entrepreneurs?

Check out this list of five great Black-owned brands.
