Her work didn’t stop there. At home, Rodriguez also used her online platform to advocate for Black Lives Matter. Over the past few days, her Twitter and Instagram pages have been constantly updated with new content, as she shared petitions, highlighted Black artists, discussed racism and police brutality, and so much more.
Even more than that, Rodriguez persistently uploaded videos where she talked about the week’s events and her feelings with fans on Instagram. These personal messages include everything from her anger at the current situation to her messages of love to Black people around the world. They also demonstrated a pressing need for change, and Rodriguez urged fans to fight for it.
“Fight with your words, with your presence, with your anger, with your pain, and, last but not least, with your love,” Rodriguez shared in her videos. “That’s what’s gonna get us through at the end of the day.”
