Check out How Darren Criss Is Using His Voice to Speak Honestly About Black Lives Matter

Darren Criss has raised his voice, spoken facts, and stood his ground when it comes to fighting racial injustice safely and effectively.

From television to Broadway and back again, the multifaceted actor has been diligently using Twitter to put forth his stance on the current state of the county and the events that have caused this well-deserved uprising.

On May 29, Darren began a thread of eye-opening tweets to break down the recent events regarding the unfair deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, and the impact they had on the Black Lives Matter movement.

Accompanying a link with resources on how and where to help, he said “I hope that you will join me in taking heed, taking heart, and taking whatever action you can to add constructively & compassionately to this movement (not to mention SAFELY during this pandemic!)”

Darren continues to put an emphasis on safety when it comes to going out and protesting because while the police are in a threatening light at the moment, he urges people to remember that there is a global pandemic still lingering in the background.

On Thursday, the Glee and Hollywood star urged his followers to take action and keep “marching forward,” even if you are new to fighting this fight.

Darren recognized that he himself wasn’t the first to jump on board, but he is ready to do so now and welcomes everyone doing the same because fighting racial injustice and police brutality in America means coming together, staying informed, and being productive.

He and his wife, Mia Swier, were also seen at a Los Angeles protest on Tuesday, June 2, holding up a homemade sign that read “Black Trans Lives Matter” on one side and “Black Lives Cannot Be Replaced” on the other.

The way that Darren Criss is using his platform is refreshingly honest and hopeful. He is taking action himself while speaking with an emphasis on the actual events happening and the real-time feelings that come alongside them.
