The rapper took to Twitter and Instagram to honor what would have been Breonna Taylor’s 27th birthday.

For over a week, thousands of people have been protesting the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who tragically lost his life when Minneapolis police officers pinned him to the ground. To raise awareness of this injustice, civilians and celebrities alike have been sharing posts on social media with the hashtag #sayhisname.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion, known for her recent hit “Savage,” has used social media to express support for the movement. On May 28, she shared a link on Twitter directing fans to sign a petition demanding justice for George Floyd.

More recently, Megan Thee Stallion has also worked to raise awareness for Breonna Taylor, a young black EMT who died when police mistakenly raided her home in March.

On June 4, Megan Thee Stallion shared a post demanding accountability and charges for the police officers involved in Breonna’s death. On June 5, the rapper tweeted again to honor what would have been Breonna Taylor’s 27th birthday.

Between her new roles as a fashion brand ambassador for Savage X Fenty and on the HBO series Legendary, Megan Thee Stallion has certainly been busy. Still, she has made time to be an active supporter of racial justice. We hope that other celebrities will follow her example to raise awareness and inspire positive change.
