‘Vanderpump Rules’ Fires Four Cast Members for Racist Behavior
The reality TV show Vanderpump Rules chose to cut ties with cast members who shared racist tweets and mistreated their Black co-star in 2018.
As activists around the world demand justice for George Floyd and other Black victims of violence, more and more individuals have faced consequences for their racist behavior. Public figures, brands, and Hollywood stars alike have been ousted for acts of discrimination. This week, Bravo confirmed that Stassi Shroeder and Kristen Doute will not return to Vanderpump Rules. The decision came a week after former cast member Faith Stowers revealed that Shroeder and Doute had reported her to the police for a crime she did not commit in 2018. Their unfounded, racist accusations were based on the Daily Mail’s suspect image of a black woman accused of robbery.
Doute and Shroeder’s misconduct came to light when Stowers discussed her experience during a viral Instagram Live on June 2nd.

I take the time to talk to Faith and really break down what’s going on in the world right now.
According to Variety, Doute and Shroeder had also tried to convince fans that Stowers was a criminal via Twitter and a podcast episode. Newer cast members Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni will also not return to Vanderpump Rules due to their past racist posts on Twitter.
Restaurant owner and leading cast member Lisa Vanderpump posted an apology statement on her social media that distanced the show’s values from the actions of former cast members. We hope that Vanderpump takes this statement to heart and works to prevent acts of racism and discrimination in future seasons.
