The recent resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement has inspired Instagram to look inward.

In a public statement titled “Ensuring Black Voices are Heard,” the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, shared a plan outlining how the company will take “a harder look at how our product impacts communities differently” in order “to better support the Black community within our own organization, as well as on our platform.”

On its platform, Instagram urged its users to #ShareBlackStories to help spread education and awareness. They also announced that Facebook will be donating 1o million dollars to organizations committed to ending racial injustice.

Recently, Instagram has been adding new features to its application in order to facilitate navigation to donation and fundraising sites:

We are so proud to see powerful companies like Instagram actively making changes to support the Black Lives Matter movement, and we hope to see other companies begin to act on their promises soon.
